Due to misbehaviour, NPP suspends two Walewale constituency executives.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended two of its constituency executives in Walewale, North-East Region, effective immediately for what the party has called egregious wrongdoing.
They were both suspended along with a party member, and they have all been told to turn in any party materials they may have until the matter is looked into further.
The party’s regional chairman, Fuseini Nurudeen, sent out the notice of suspension.
This choice was made in the wake of a Tamale High Court decision that mandated a rerun of the parliamentary primary for the Walewale constituency.

The preceding election was deemed tainted by the court because of anomalies, voter fraud, and impersonation.
The NPP General Secretary declared on Monday afternoon that the party had decided on the rerun’s schedule in response to the court’s decision.
The dates are as follows: on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, nominations will open; on Thursday, September 5, they will conclude; and on Sunday, September 8, 2024, there will be an election.
