More than 25 Accra neighborhoods will suffer “Dumsor” – ECG

2 Min Read

There will be power outages in about 25 communities and localities in the Accra East and West regions, according to a statement from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Ghana Steel, Palace Mall, Abodakpi Farms, Lovely Transport, Kpone Barrier, Kingdom Transport, GPHA Terminal (Kpone), Sethi Realty, and Kpone Dump Site are among the places impacted.
The other areas are Bediako, Golf City, and the surrounding areas. Other places are the following: Bohye, Abloradjei, Pure Water, Kwabenya, Agbogba, Maryera, a portion of Teiman, Ayi Mensah, Katapor, Top Herbal, Pokuase Township, Fountain Gate, and the adjacent areas.
Thursday, the ECG apologized to its clients in both areas in a statement. The Ghana Grid business Limited (GRIDCo) shortage in power supply to the Pokuase Bulk Supply Point and the Smelter 2 Bulk Supply Point was the cause of the outages, according to the business.

Electricity Towers

It’s not known when these locations will be added back to the national grid. Many ECG customers are concerned about this and have voiced their displeasure with the power distributor’s unwillingness to provide a timeline to inform their plans.

Ghanaians are furious over the power outages, particularly in light of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the Minister of Energy, saying that there is no “dumsor” and no need for a timeline.
Many stakeholders find it regrettable that GRIDCo and ECG have not provided an explanation to the public in spite of the deteriorating circumstances.
Over a hundred communities or areas in these two regions have experienced power outages in the last week, according to a compilation by Citi News.
