Senegalese popular-Akon, an American artist, has declared himself the world’s most frugal person.
This, he believes, is the greatest way for a person to remain wealthy. During his visit on the Impulsive Podcast, he revealed this.
He brazenly claimed to be “the stingiest man on the planet” and asserted that being stingy is the secret to wealth preservation.
Akon highlighted the importance of financial discipline in order to remain wealthy.
He shared his personal experience with having a private aircraft, which lasted barely six months owing to excessive maintenance bills that surpassed the cost of the real jet.
He encouraged anyone thinking about buying a private plane or other luxury property to hold off and instead rent them out as required.
“Whatever you do, do not own a [private] jet. Bro, owning a jet is spending at least 2-3 million dollars a year just for upkeep [maintenance]. You spend more on the maintenance than the actual jet cost,” he said.
Akon further urged individuals to manage their money as if it had to last a lifetime.
He argued that this perspective would significantly impact the way people handle their finances.
“This is the advice I give everybody. The money that you have now has to last you a lifetime. When you reason it that way, you are going to be very prudent.” he argued
