ocial media users have been responding to a viral video depicting the sale of a smart water closet on the Ghanaian market.
The GH360k Smart Toilet with WiFi and Sensors has sparked outrage on social media.
Users on the X platform have been perplexed by the WC’s selling price, which is estimated to be over GH360,000 after it was uploaded by media personality, Serwaa Amihere.
She was barefoot in the video as she demonstrated how the smart toilet functioned. She pointed out that, unlike ordinary toilets, it does not require any touching because it is equipped with sensors.
“It has WiFi, actually. For those of you who like to make decisions when you’re on the toilet.”
Serwaa Amihere hovered her feet over the edges of the toilet, causing the lid to open. She spoke it again, and the lid lifted up. She used the same method to cover the toilet.
“You don’t need to touch anything. You just need to get close to it, and then it will close by itself.”
Ibrahim Issifu, a platform user, questioned the true price tag of the WC after conducting an internet search that revealed that the water closet sells for $9,937,50 [GH113,770.44], a significant difference from the price indicated in Ghana.
Some users have also poked fun of the WC’s capabilities, such as WiFi and motion sensors, among other things.
