Accident on Accra-Kumasi route results in 9 deaths

After a head-on collision involving two 2M Express Company Limited Toyota Hiace minibuses, 9 people have been officially declared dead.
In the wee hours of Sunday, March 26, 2023, two commercial cars with the license plates GN 3229-21 and GN 8292-21 collided at Birimso, a portion of the main Accra-Kumasi Highway close to Bunso junction.
Eyewitnesses said that the Accra-bound truck collided into the Kumasi-bound vehicle as it attempted to swerve around a container that had fallen from a trailer and onto the road. traveling from Kumasi in the direction of Accra.

The 9 passengers, 7 men and 2 women, died instantly due to the intensity of the hit.
According to Bunso Fire Station Officer ADO II Doe Samuel, “Personnel from the Bunso fire station and the police who had a torrid time extricating the injured from the wreckage hurriedly rushed 19 victims to the Kibi Government hospital and Hawa Memorial Saviour Hospital in Osiem where they are currently receiving treatment.” The number of fatalities from traffic accidents in the area over the last two days has increased to 18 as a result of the most recent catastrophe.
According to Citi News, the National Road Safety Authority would host some emergency engagements in response to the three different incidents that were reported in the Eastern region over the weekend.
