Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has apologized for using a racial term in a TikTok video that has nearly 214,000 views.

The Ukraine international, who joined Stamford Bridge for £89 million ($110 million) during the January transfer window, was captured on camera repeating lyrics to Lil Baby’s 2017 ‘Freestyle’ hit.
A nasty racist word is used numerous times in the video, prompting considerable criticism of the 22-year-old forward.

“Mykhailo is extremely apologetic for any offence caused by the video shared on his TikTok account last July,” a spokesman for Mudryk told The Sun.

“The video has subsequently been taken down.”

While Mudryk has apologised for his behavior, major anti-racism advocacy organisation Kick It Out have said of the Chelsea new boy: “Kick It Out condemns the use of all racial slurs, including the N-word irrespective of context.

“The N-word is highly offensive, and the usage of this epithet by high-profile figures in football can only help to alienate people from the game.

“We’re happy to see that Mykhailo Mudryk has addressed the pain caused by his use of this hateful slur.”
