Since his comeback to the Premier League in 2017, the prolific Egyptian has had his poorest start to a season.

Mohamed Salah’s start to the 2022/23 Premier League season has been difficult.

The 30-year-old Egyptian forward has only scored two goals in seven league games for the Reds this season, while also scoring twice in the Champions League.

Salah’s form, along with Liverpool’s poor start, has left the Merseyside Reds ninth in the table, with only 10 points from their first seven games.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, on the other hand, has now disclosed the cause for the Reds’ talisman’s poor start.

Jurgen Klopp explains why Salah has had a difficult start to the season.

When asked what the exact issue is with Salah this season, Klopp emphasized that the lack of movement among the Reds’ attack is proving detrimental to the Egyptian.

Klopp remarked that his faltering start to the season is due to him being “too static.”

Salah has not scored in league competition since August, extending his goal drought to four games, one of the longest in his Liverpool career.

“Now, so the position hasn’t really changed, and what he has to accomplish hasn’t changed,” the German stated, according to Sony Sports Network. When we don’t play our best football, we’ve been too. Salah’s hopes of regaining the Premier League golden boot suddenly appear bleak, given Erling Haaland’s electrifying start to life with Manchester City.

The prolific Norwegian has already scored 14 league goals in 7 games for the defending champions this season, with another five coming in Europe.

Salah returns to action for Liverpool this weekend, when the Reds travel to the Emirates to face league leaders Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
