Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, has emphasized Thomas Partey’s importance ahead of his team’s Premier League match against Arsenal on Sunday.
Partey, according to the German manager, adds balance to Arsenal’s midfield and helps his team play better.
Arsenal now leads the Premier League after winning seven of their first eight games this season.
Mikel Arteta’s side’s only setback this season came against Manchester United in September, when Arsenal dominated.
The Gunners will face another difficult test this weekend when Liverpool visits the Emirates.
“He’s brought Xhaka back on track, everyone knew how Thomas Partey was when he was at Atletico, and now they’ve found a way how they want to defend,” Klopp stated on Sky Sports.
“They played a different line-up on Thursday but still with lots of quality; it’s a young team, a very exciting team, and doing very well, which is well-deserved.”
Partey has been in excellent form for Arsenal this season, contributing significantly to the club’s strong start.
Last week, he scored his first goal of the season in the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
His goal set the tone for Arsenal to cruise to a 3-0 victory over Antonio Conte’s side.
