Nollywood stars’ kidnappers have contacted the guild and demand $100,000.

Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, alias Agbogidi, two well-known Nollywood actresses and AGN members who were abducted in an Enugu suburb twenty-four hours ago, have been contacted by their captors’ families.The actors’ families verified they did not arrive home from a filming site in Ozalla Town, Enugu state, on Thursday, therefore their disappearance was reported.The movies that both actors have starred in were filmed in the states of Delta and Enugu.

The kidnappers are asking for a bulk sum of cash in dollars, according to Emeka Rollas, national president of the AGN, who spoke to Premium Times on Saturday.He stated “The kidnappers have made contact with the families and are demanding the sum of $100,000. We pray to God for his intervention and for Him to put confusion in their midst.

“We are also working closely with the different security operatives, but we are not sure what to expect from them because the same thing is happening everywhere in the country.”Mr. Rollas said that Guild members are coordinating closely with the victims’ relatives and law enforcement to achieve their safe release.
Mr. Rollas said that

“the kidnappers cleared the money in Cynthia Okereke’s account this morning” in an interview with Punch that appeared on Saturday.
Extra precautions
Rollas said that the Guild had instructed its members to take proper security precautions in their sites and to refrain from shooting outside of the city as part of efforts to prevent a recurrence.

The actors’ kidnapping was revealed by AGN’s director of communications, Monalisa Chinda, in a statement made accessible to PREMIUM TIMES on Friday.According to Ms. Chinda, members’ concerns regarding the security of actors filming in the nation have grown as a result of their kidnapping.
