Police in Techiman are looking into the reported attack on Asantehene’s convoy.

According to reports, the Asantehene was returning from a burial in Nkoranza when the tragedy occurred. Initial reports indicate that some people, allegedly young people from Techiman, threw stones at the convoy’s busses.

In a statement, the police assured the public of their commitment to uncovering the facts of the case. They noted that they are engaging with the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and other key stakeholders in Techiman to aid the investigation.
The incident has drawn attention due to the Asantehene’s revered status and the historical significance of peaceful coexistence between communities. The police have urged calm as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack.

“We urge the public to remain calm and cooperate with the police as the investigation into the matter continues,” the statement read.
