Alhassan Suhuyini, Member of Parliament for the Tamale North Constituency, has committed to collect roughly 80% of the votes cast in the Tamale North Constituency for the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming December 7 election.
“In the past, we have done between 60-65%, our prayer and hope this time around and because of the assurances we’re given, is that we will make about 80%, we will get 80% of the votes for HE John Dramani Mahama.”
Suhuyini expressed confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the major opposition group, will have an easier time in the elections.
He highlighted that the people of northern Ghana have already picked who they believe is most qualified to lead the country forward.
While conceding that both presidential candidates from the two major political parties are from the north, Suhuyini projected an easy victory for the NDC, citing their better chances of winning the election.
“Inshallah these elections are going to be the easiest it’s not going to be the toughest at all, and for us, in the northern region our minds are made up, we have decided already on who cares about our welfare.
“We know who as president and as vice president ensured that pilgrimage became easier, We know who as president and as vice president ensured that our markets in this part of the country got attention.
“We know who as president and as vice president ensured that our hospital that promoted and ensured our wellbeing got a big boost in terms of its construction.
“We have two of them coming from this part of the country but we have tasted both of them in government and we know who cares about us and who doesn’t so it’s not going to be a very tough election as people are anticipating, inshallah by the grace of God it’s going to be a walkover for HE John Dramani Mahama.”
He made these remarks during a media interview after filing his nomination at the Sagnarigu EC office, to contest for a third consecutive term as the parliamentary candidate for the Tamale North Constituency.
