During an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy encouraged women going through divorce to rely on God rather than their partners.
In reflecting on her own experience, she emphasised that her strength came from trusting on the Lord for guidance, saying, “My dependency was on the Lord.” She reminded women to remember that their spouses are not their enemy, especially when children are involved, because they still have a covenant as parents.
Ohemaa Mercy also stressed the significance of having a constructive relationship with ex-partners for the sake of their children. During such difficult times, she exhorted women to keep their faith and trust in God’s direction. “Because of the kids, you have a covenant,” she said, encouraging them to find serenity and strength in their faith.
