The Ministry of Education has been given a two-week deadline by the National Association of Graduate instructors (NAGRAT) to address issues that professional instructors in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector are facing.
NAGRAT expressed concerns about the transfer of teachers from the Ghana Education Service to TVET without their approval, as well as the absence of interaction with teacher representatives during the formulation of the TVET teachers’ scheme of service.
NAGRAT President Angel Carbonu told Citi News that the union and the Ministry had met and decided on a two-week schedule to deal with these problems.
“We have had a meeting and [during that meeting], the authorities have identified the anomalies and that they have also put measures in place to solve the anomalies.
“So we are supposed to give them two weeks to address the anomalies and then we will reconvene, look at the way the anomalies have been solved and then we will take it from there.”
