KA Technologies, the business in charge of providing laptop computers to educators as part of the government’s One Teacher – One Laptop program, has declared the initiative’s successful conclusion.
This program, which intends to digitalize instruction and improve research among educators, was expected to benefit over 300,000 teachers employed by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
“We are happy to announce the successful completion of the nationwide supply, training, and subsequent distribution of Computer Laptops to qualified teachers (Kindergarten, Primary, Junior, and Senior High Schools), teachers on study leave, and non-teaching Staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES),” the company said in a statement released over the weekend.
The company also announced the opening of Aftercare Centers that are open around the clock to provide teachers with ongoing technical and customer assistance.
“Our user-friendly Katcare App allows the booking of repair services and the purchase of Laptop accessories. Teachers may also call toll-free line 0800790555 to report any complaints or enquiries”, the statement added.
The company conveyed its appreciation to the regulatory bodies, stakeholders, the government, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and the teacher unions, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT), for their collaborative efforts in guaranteeing a successful implementation.
“As a local firm, we are indeed gratified to have contributed towards the delivery of digital-aided advancement in teaching in Ghana and remain committed to leapfrogging technology to transform all sectors of the Ghanaian economy”, the statement concluded.
