Senior security personnel have been advised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to aid the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in what is purportedly a vote-rigging scheme in December.
Party National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah issued a warning, saying that there would be repercussions for any law enforcement official who assists the NPP in thwarting the decision of the public.
Speaking in the Eastern Region’s Ayensuano Constituency, Asiedu Nketiah disclosed that the NDC possesses proof linking security personnel to the murder of eight individuals amid the 2020 elections.

The statement “crime has no expiry date” was reinforced by Asiedu Nketiah, who also cautioned security officers against obeying illegal commands.

“Security personnel, don’t follow the government to do unlawful acts because they’re in power. On the day of reckoning, the government that encouraged you to open fire on people will have left power, leaving you to face consequences.”
“Those who have intended to rig the 2024 election, the Police and military commanders, if you give people orders to open fire on the people, you will not go scot-free, because crime has no expiry date,” the speaker further addressed police and military commanders. There will be consequences for the eight persons who lost their lives in the 2020 election.
