Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running partner, has come to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s defense, saying that the party’s flagbearer is not and never will be corrupt.
Following the delivery of a copy of Manasseh Azure Awuni’s most recent book, Dr. Opoku Prempeh commended Dr. Bawumia as a man of integrity who sincerely cares for the nation during an interview with the investigative journalist.
“The flagbearer I serve is not corrupt, he has never been corrupt, and he never will be,” Dr. Opoku Prempeh asserted.
The most recent book by Manasseh Azure, “The President We Never Had,” recounts a variety of incidents that happened under President Akufo-Addo’s rule, including claims of corruption.
The choice of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as the NPP’s running mate and the ensuing backroom maneuvering are also covered in detail in a chapter of the book.
“This book sheds light on some of the key events that have occurred in this government, from the early days of the administration to the present,” Manasseh said, handing Dr. Opoku Prempeh a copy of the book.
Clearly happy to receive the book, Dr. Opoku Prempeh pledged to read it through and offer comments.
“I love reading, and I will definitely go through the entire book and share my thoughts with you. I’m also working on a few books to tell my story as Education Minister and Energy Minister,” he added.
