The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has promised to thwart any illegal attempts by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win the next elections on December 7.
This reaction comes after remarks made by Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong, a member of parliament representing Abetifi, who stated that the NPP would exert every effort to win the elections in December.
Mustapha Gbande, the deputy general secretary of the NDC, stated in a Citi News interview that the party will track down and deal with any individual or group endangering Ghana’s democracy.
“We will not burn the sea and I can assure Bryan Acheampong that the nonsense that they [his government] showed Ghanaians in 2020, a repetition of same will make people like himself victims of their schemes. Ghana will not die. Ghana will stay strong. Ghana will stay united.
“But we will fish out hoodlums and hot-headed people like Bryan Acheampong who are a danger and a threat to our democracy. I can give him that assurance that an inch of an attempt to do what is unlawful will be fiercely resisted and the persons who will be engaged will be singled out and dealt with.
“It doesn’t matter what it takes for us to do that. That will be done.”0.
