Shatta Wale, the king of African dancehall, has openly criticized his parents on Facebook.
Shatta stated that he was ignored by his parents when he was a child, which caused him to develop the personality he does now, in an unsettling statement that has since gone popular on social media.
Shatta Wale’s mother, Madam Elsie Evelyn Avemegah, came forward last weekend, saying she hadn’t seen her son in over a decade and that he hadn’t shown her any concern, not even during her most dire moments.
She continued by saying that she is dependent on family members who are understanding and take care of her financial obligations.
He disclosed that he was ignored by his mother when he was a child, therefore in return, he is giving back to her. According to Shatta Wale, during his early years, his stepmother took over to look after him and his daughter, giving them the stability and support that his biological mother was unable to provide.
In addition, he vented his annoyance at his biological mother’s perceived insensitivity and desire to get sympathy from the public by taking family issues to social media.
Shatta Wale has been accused of neglecting his mother for a long time; this was discovered in 2022 when she disclosed that she had been kicked out of her house after six years.
In later interviews, Madame Elsie Avemegah talked about her deteriorating health and her son’s purported lack of support; her niece Sherita recently backed up this story on TikTok.
