Conversations regarding the ethical and financial ramifications of Ghana’s position on LGBTQ+ rights have been spurred by Ghanaian reggae musician and radio personality Blakk Rasta.
The claim made by Blakk Rasta that leaders in Ghana cannot support LGBTQ+ organizations financially while also openly denouncing LGBTQ+ people.
“You cannot dislike gays and love gay money. The passage of the LGBTQ+ Bill will force our greedy leaders to be truly independent and responsible”
He stated on 3FM. City Blend
The central thesis of Blakk Rasta’s message is that leaders in Ghana cannot support LGBTQ+ causes financially while also expressing hostility toward individuals who identify as LGBTQ+.
He claims that the understanding he gained from studying the tale of Sodom and Gomorrah served as the inspiration for his song “Sodom & Gomorrah,” which is the opening track on his most recent album, Salaga Soljah, which has twenty tracks.
Additionally, he confirmed the biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah.
“When I visited Israel and had the opportunity to see ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’ located in the north of Syria, there I got to know the severity of their sins and punishment. Sodom and Gomorrah was not only punished for homosexuality but murder, violence, injustice, rape, corruption, and many serious ills were rampant there”
The renowned media personality is urging Ghanaians to help fight all the ills in society and not just sexual immorality.
