Well-known musician and businessman Kwame Nsiah-Apau, better known by his stage name Okyeame Kwame, from Ghana, has stated unequivocally that he is not a part of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s Manifesto Committee.
The crooner made it clear that he has no political ties to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which is currently in power, and that his knowledge is not party-specific.
He emphasized that all political parties can use his expertise, and that he is dedicated to serving the larger political landscape.
The “Yekoo” hitmaker revealed in a press release that Ameyaw Debrah Media was able to view that he has not been paid for his alleged membership in the committee.
“I want to reassure my followers that I remain impartial and uninvolved in politics, a stance I’ve upheld throughout my career. I have neither received compensation nor formal invitation from H.E. The Vice President’s campaign team to participate in the arts and tourism manifesto committee,” he clarified.
Okyeame went on to say that he would be happy to lend his knowledge of the creative industry to any political party that was interested in doing so.
The singer, who has won numerous awards, was one of fifteen individuals announced last week as members of the NPP Manifesto Committee for tourism, the arts, and culture.
