Kaneshie: The AMA takes action against vendors who convert footbridge into market area.

1 Min Read

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has seized items belonging to vendors who converted a footbridge at Kaneshie market into a selling area.
The action was part of an effort to prevent dealers from operating on footbridges, according to the AMA.
Some traders, however, expressed their discontent with the action, citing the lack of a location to erect their booths to sell, which has resulted in the footbridge being turned into a selling point.

Meanwhile, Accra’s mayor has suspended a task force agent at the Kaneshie market for failing to do his duties.
This comes as a result of the task force agents’ incapacity to guarantee that dealers do not utilize the wobbly near-collapse footbridge as a selling factor.
According to the mayor, this measure is intended to convey a message to all AMA personnel not to shirk their obligations, but rather to be up to the task of achieving the AMA’s aims and aspirations.
