The Adansi Asokwa Member of Parliament Kobina Tahir Hammond’s contempt charge was rejected by the Accra High Court.
Lawyers for Assin North Member of Parliament James Gyakye Quayson pursued the Trades and Industry Minister to court.

K.T Hammond, as he is commonly known, was accused of making comments in a media interview that were judged harmful to Quayson’s criminal case, which is being prosecuted on dual citizenship allegations.
However, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, the court rejected the case, finding that insufficient evidence was presented to gain a conviction.

The judge also concluded that Hammond’s comments were not intended to interfere with Quayson’s criminal case.
