Sam George, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram, has chastised Dr Ernest Addison, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, for neglecting to appear to receive a petition from the Minority requesting his dismissal.
Mr. George believes that Dr. Addison ignored the Minority because of the massive turnout at the #OccupyBoGprotest.
Mr. George emphasized in a media appearance on Wednesday, October 4, that the NDC MPs will not back down from their demands until the Governor resigns.

“We were told stories that he wasn’t well and later told that he would come and receive our petition, and we stood there for an hour and more and still failed to show up and sent a watchman to come and meet us.”

“I’ve always maintained that man (Dr. Ernest Addison) is a coward, and we will protest till he comes out to receive our petition,” he said.
Dr. Addison did not appear on Tuesday to receive the petition from the NDC MPs.
On Tuesday, Dr. Addison did not appear to receive the petition from the NDC MPs.
Wing Commander Kwame Asare Boateng and a host of the Bank’s leadership met with the demonstrators, informing them that Dr. Addison was in a meeting with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and hence unavailable to receive the petition.

The Minority, on the other hand, called Dr. Addison’s choice “appalling and disappointing.”
