Kuami Eugene, a Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats singer/songwriter, has disclosed that he has been behind many great songs in the country but has received no credit.
In a yet-to-be-aired interview with Kojo Manuel, the Lynx Entertainment signee stated that he has contributed to the creation of some of Ghana’s biggest songs through his songwriting talent, but has received no credit or even a penny from the folks he wrote the hits for.
“It’s not fair, they don’t think he’ll let it go, yeah and more people take do me, there are many hits in the country and the people really made money out of it but u didn’t even have 1 cedi but I wrote the hook,” he said.
According to Kuami Eugene, he was young and growing in the music industry, so he did some songs for a few artists out of love, but he believes it is time for people to pay their dues.
“And some of them know and it’s not fair, I was emerging so it’s understandable and I wrote some of them out of love, like I am obsessed with this Celebrity I do it but right I’m in my seventh year in the industry, you’re still trying to dupe,”
