Samini, a Ghanaian reggae dancehall performer, feels self-assured that his popular song, “My Own,” is the best among the “big four” artists, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and himself when it comes to successful songs.
Even without him, none of the musicians named could, in Samini’s opinion, create a song that could rival his hit single.
‘My Own’ is now the best hit song, says Samini with pride.
He stated that, in terms of music, he did not see himself as being on the same level as these performers.
He declared,
“As far as I’m concerned, I’m minding my business, and I’m actually not on the same level as these guys when it comes to music, you understand?”
Samini continued by pointing out that it is unjust to place unnecessary pressure on upcoming musicians by comparing them to more established ones like himself. He thinks it’s unrealistic to anticipate that the next generation of artists would immediately achieve his level of accomplishment.
“But I think it’s unfair pressure to these kids when you want to bring them to my level like that,” he noted.
Samini answered confidently to those who said his career had slowed down, telling them to “go get a degree and come back.”
He notably mentioned “My Own,” claiming that after being away from the music industry for so long, he did not see any substantial changes and that none of the current top hits can compare to it.
Stonebwoy’s most recent endeavor, “5th Dimension,” was similarly praised by Samini, who claimed that it was the “big four” musicians’ sole noteworthy release.
