Okailey Verse, better known by her stage as OV, has dared Stonebwoy, the head of her old label, to reveal the real reason she left the Burniton Music Group.
In response to her departure from the record label owned by the Afro dancehall singer along with Kelvynboy and Black Sidi, Ov issued a challenge.
Due to her exceptional stage presence and abilities, she was declared the winner of the 2019 MTN Hitmaker music reality TV competition and signed a contract with BMG.
Midway through 2019, the record company let go of OV, Kelvyn Boy, and Black Sidi, Stonebwoy’s previous manager.
Stonebwoy confirmed their departure by saying:
“Our decision with OV is part of our efforts to restructure the brand. If you are close to me, you’ll know my intent as a manager. I couldn’t see a lot of things until my attention was drawn to it. Because of this, I had to re-structure. It’s in the best interest of the company that she was released. She has our support anytime, any day,”
Both parties have been coy about the real reason behind their separation because this unexpected event aroused many questions.
However, OV revealed in a recent interview with Kwaku Manu on “Aggressive Show” that Stonebwoy is aware of the explanation for their breakup but did not want to go into further detail.
She urged the interviewers to ask Stonebwoy, Kelvynboy, and Black Sidi about her departure.
OV denied rumors that she used strong drugs and said that her main favorite is wine. She also said that she does not smoke.
“I dare you, presenters, to put it to him on why we left the label and push him to say the truth”, she stated.
