Two people were killed as a consequence of a shooting incident in the Eastern Region’s Nsawam Adoagyiri.
The two unnamed individuals were among four people who were shot and brought to the Nsawam government hospital on Tuesday after a fresh chieftaincy conflict in the area.
One person was shot last week after some kingmakers from the Abuakwa Traditional Council established a rival chief for Nsawam Adoagyiri under strong police and military protection.
Residents of Nsawam Adoagyiri who paid respect to Akyem Kotoku were enraged at the circumstances.

According to Citi News sources, the shooting occurred Tuesday during a float through the principal streets of Nsawam by parallel chief Chief Barima Adu Korkoor III, moments after he returned from the Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi, after swearing an oath to Okyehene and the Abuakwa Traditional Council following his enstoolment last week.
Despite the fact that police have begun their investigations into the violent event that resulted in the deaths of two people in the municipality, citizens are getting increasingly concerned about insecurity.
They are also concerned that retaliatory assaults would exacerbate the situation if the Ministry of National Security, the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and other key parties do not act quickly.
