Diamond Appiah, an actress, musician, and entrepreneur from Ghana, is now being held by police after attending court.
Shortly after being exonerated by the Circuit Court in Accra in a case concerning an alleged fraudulent land purchase, the businesswoman was detained once more.
The accusations against her were dropped by the attorney’s office, which was represented by chief state attorney Evelyn Keelson. But as soon as she stepped outside the courthouse, the cops detained her once more.
Diamond Appiah was detained on January 17 of this year for allegedly taking part in a fraudulent land deal in which she got $30,000.

She was charged with charging that sum for the sale of a plot of property in East Legon Hills to Ayisha Modi. She first entered a plea of not guilty and was granted freedom on GHc300,000 bond.
The prosecutor, DSP Evans Kesse, notified the court during the most recent court session on August 21, 2023, that the case file had been forwarded to the Attorney General’s office for direction. A request to withdraw the case was then submitted. According to this request, the case would not proceed, as indicated by Mrs. Evelyn Keelson, according to DSP Kesse.

The defense lawyer contended that there was no evidence to support the prosecution’s case against his client and that the judicial system should be utilized to uphold justice rather than serve one’s own interests. He called the actions taken against his client unjustified.
Your Honor The filing of the proceedings by a Chief State Attorney was confirmed by the sitting court, Mr. Isaac Addo. He made it clear that the accused has the right to be released when such a process is launched.
Diamond Appiah was released after the hearing and appeared satisfied, but was later detained again. The complainant in the case, Ayisha Modi, was present throughout the court hearings. The circumstances behind Diamond Appiah’s rapid re-arrest upon his release are still unknown.
