Madam Akua Afriyie, a member of the National Democratic Congress in Kumawu, has been fired for publicly supporting NPP Flagbearer candidate Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.
Despite being a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, she expressed love for the NPP presidential candidate.
Her firing, she claims, occurred shortly after a video of her declaring her support for Alan went viral during the Kumawu by-election.

She had told the entire world that even though she was a member of the NDC, if the NPP presented Alan as their flagbearer in the 2024 elections, she would gladly vote for him. She remarked at the time that Alan had a vision that could salvage the country and give hope to the teeming youth.
She has since been the talk of the town in political circles, which the NDC did not appreciate.

Akua Afriyie claims she is now a floating voter after receiving a letter of dismissal.
“I am currently not a member of the NDC or a member of the NPP but l am a strong supporter of Mr. Kyerematen”.
She has warned that if the NPP denies Mr Kyerematen the chance to lead the party, she will simply avoid the 2024 elections.
Meanwhile, the constituency delegates Durbar for Kumawu, Afram Plains, and Effiduase Asokore was well attended, with delegates resolving to do everything in their power to ensure Alan wins the presidential primary.
The delegates agreed that discerning Ghanaians are now fully woken from their slumber and will not be caught by surprise.
They claimed that it was Alan’s turn to lead the party and that nothing should stand in his way this time.
