Police ‘killers’ in the Ablekuma bullion van robbery have been detained.

Two people have been remanded into police custody and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the death of Lance Corporal Calystus Amoah.
According to police sources, Benjamin Ojogbe and Rashid Abdul were among a group of armed thieves who ambushed a bullion van at the Ablekuma Fanmilk Star Oil Filling Station, killing a police officer.

One of the criminals was seen coming toward the bullion van’s passenger side and firing at the police officer, according to CCTV footage of the incident.
Since then, the police have been looking for the remaining suspects.
The two defendants were arraigned in the Kansehie District Court on Monday, July 3, but their pleas were not taken.
The information provided to the court indicates that the robbers fled with more than GH145,000.
