In a recent interview with McBrown on Onua Showtime, renowned Ghanaian actor Kofi Adjorlolo acknowledged his deep appreciation for King Promise and the huge impact his popular song ‘CCTV’ had on him.
Adjorlolo, who has a background in music and radio broadcasting, claimed that he was immediately attracted by King Promise’s talent and distinctive approach, which gave him chills upon hearing the single for the first time.
Adjorlolo recalled his first experience with King Promise as viewing the music video for ‘CCTV,’ in which the artist appeared on a train or in a similar location. Adjorlolo noted the rise of new talent in the industry at this time.

“The first time he came out, he did a video where he was on a train or something, that’s ‘CCTV.’ I got goosebumps, and that’s when I knew there was another guy on the scene. Since then, I’ve been following him,” Adjorlolo shared.

Another component of King Promise’s brand that appealed to Adjorlolo was the artist’s bald hair, which was similar to his own. This similar physical characteristic endeared King Promise to the seasoned performer, fostering a stronger bond and appreciation for his profession.

“And the image that makes him unique, do you want to know? His bald haircut is just like mine. I love this guy so much, and I don’t have anything else to say,” Adjorlolo expressed, playfully removing his hat to show off his bald head, evoking laughter from the studio audience.

King Promise, noted for his soulful voice and poignant songs, was touched by the Nollywood legend’s words. The gifted vocalist, born Gregory Promise Bortey Newman, has quickly established himself as one of Ghana’s most promising performers. His breakout song, ‘CCTV,’ drew the attention of music fans, including seasoned musicians such as Kofi Adjorlolo, who recognized his evident skill and distinct artistic expression.
