Vote for Akufo-Addo’s NPP candidate in the Kumawu by-election.
The two main political parties, the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), are vying for the seat.
With the highly anticipated by-election in Kumawu about to take place in just 24 hours, prominent NPP and NDC officials have increased their efforts to ensure their candidate gets the seat.
While former President John Dramani Mahama is arguing for the NDC, President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are persuading delegates to vote for their party’s nominee.

The race’s two independent contenders have also vowed to trigger an upset.
On Sunday, May 21, 2023, the mood in Kumawu was extremely tense as the NPP held a big demonstration.
The President, who endorsed Ernest Yaw Anim, urged constituents to vote for him during the NPP’s final rally in the constituency on Sunday, May 21.

“The replacement for Philip Basoah is handsome, humble, and kind-hearted and is ready to serve you. He has united all members of the party in this constituency. Ernest Yaw Anim deserves to do the job. He’s number one on the ballot paper, place your thumb on where you see him, we don’t want any deceptive candidate“.

The Vice President, on his part, praised the NPP’s accomplishments and reminded constituents of the projects they would miss if they voted for the NDC’s nominee.

“Vote for the NPP’s candidate to go to parliament to bring development to the constituency. The NDC should know that we haven’t forgotten the dumsor era. Do you want us to experience dumsor again?” he asked.
The NPP parliamentary candidate for Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Anim also urged the constituents to avoid complacency and go out in their numbers to vote massively for him in order to ensure a resounding victory.
“Let’s all go out in our numbers to vote massively for me to win,” he urged.

The rally was led by President Akufo-Addo, his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and other NPP stalwarts such as Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, former Agriculture Minister and flagbearer aspirant, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, NPP’s National Chairman, Stephen Ntim, among others.
There is a strong security presence in Kumawu, with scores of security personnel stationed there ahead of the by-election.
Ernest Yaw Anim of the NPP, Kwasi Amankwaa of the NDC, and two independent candidates are among the four participants.
