The Church of Pentecost and some gospel singers have turned to their social media sites in the days leading up to the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) to openly campaign for Piesie Esther to win the prestigious “Artist of the Year” and other categories at this year’s event.

In a Facebook post, the Church of Pentecost urged its followers and the wider public to vote for Piesie Esther to win all the categories in order to help her. The church claimed that it was time to back the talented female performer who had received seven nominations for the awards program.

“It is time to show our support for the talented Deaconess Piesie Esther! She’s been nominated for 7 awards: Best Artiste of the Year, Best Gospel Artiste of the Year, Best Gospel Song of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Best Female Vocalist of the Year, Best Music Video of the Year, Best Songwriter of the Year. Let us rally behind our sister and daughter and help her bring these awards home!” the church wrote.

In the meantime, a few gospel musicians have joined the cause to encourage people to vote for the well-known deaconess. Celestine Donkor, Kofi Donkor, Kwesi Enerst, Joe Mettle, and other gospel figures have launched campaigns on their social media profiles in support of the gospel minister.
