Sister Derby has revealed that choosing to collaborate with Medikal, her old collaborator, once more was an easy choice for her because doing so seems “easy and natural.”Sister Deborah says she respects Medikal’s ability to craft songs that connect with his listeners on the streets and produce hit after hit, despite some people calling his musical style cheesy.
In April 2023, she made these remarks while participating in a segment on the podcast “If More Let’s Divide” with Mutombo and Fred. Cold & Trophies, a song by the two musicians from Medikal’s upcoming album “Planning & Plotting,” was recently made available.
The success of their cooperation, according to Sister Deborah, was due to their simpatico and respect for one another’s abilities. Despite their previous romantic engagement and subsequent breakup, Sister Deborah insists that there is no resentment between them.”How come it happened? I mean, him reaching out to me for the feature was normal because we did ‘Too Risky’ together and it was a hit. We’ve done other songs together like ‘Sampanana’ and we have another song on his old album called ‘Make I See’.
“Recording and working with him (Medikal) has always been so natural and easy. We like the same kind of vibe and I admire his talent…some people will say it’s corny but it works. His style is actually dope, the way he plays with his words. He uses words that the streets are familiar with. Those are the things that make people happy.”

“Even though we had a relationship and we broke up, I haven’t had any bad sentiments or whatever about it. You just accept…I don’t keep bitterness and anger in me and also, I feel there is a reason for everything…during our issues, I had already had the song ‘Kakalika Love’ written down and recorded,” she explained.Due to their prior animosity following their dramatic breakup in 2018, the former lovers’ song titled “Cold & Trophies” has once again made headlines.
The moment their joint single, “Too Risky,” was out, they broke up.
In 2020, Medikal, whose true name is Samuel Adu Frimpong, wed the actress Fella Makafui.
