Piesie Esther, a gospel musician, claims she has a lock on the top Artiste of the Year prize at this year’s Ghana Music Awards since she put in more effort than her rivals during the last year.
The W’aye Me Yie musician said in a conversation with Graphic Showbiz at the Nomination announcement celebration held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Convention Centre (AICC) on, March 18, that her recent works are proof that she deserves to win the VGMA Artiste of the Year title.
“Ghanaians know the work I put in last year. I was one of the busiest gospel artistes who played all the major gospel shows in Ghana including private gigs and in the churches.
“I had two successful shows in Accra and Kumasi and from the records, W’aye Meyie stands very tall among other songs by the other artistes.
“W’aye Meyie is a nationwide hit and very popular in every corner of the year,” Piesie Esther confidently told Graphic Showbiz.
Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Camidoh, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Joe Mettle, and KiDi, the current Artist of the Year, are just a few of the competitors Piesie Esther will face.
