The nomination period for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential and legislative elections has begun.
The two-day activity will mark the final leg of the party’s internal elections to elect presidential and parliamentary candidates for the NDC on May 13, 2023, to run on the party’s ticket in the 2024 general election.
Prospective legislative candidates would pick nomination forms for GH5000, while presidential hopefuls would pick nomination forms directly from the party’s General Secretary’s office for GH30,000 via banker’s draft.
Female candidates and those with physical limitations, on the other hand, would be forced to pay only half of the fee.
Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated his ambition to run for President on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the 2024 general election (NDC).
Mr Mahama made the formal declaration on Tuesday during a meeting with the Minority caucus at his Cantonment office.
John Dramani has received unanimous support from all NDC Lawmakers in Parliament.
Former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, former NDC Campaign Manager for the 2020 general elections Professor Joshua Alabi, and former Information Minister Kofi Totobi Quakyi were also present at the meeting.
The former President is anticipated to make a public statement in the coming days.
