Big Akwesi, a Kumawood actor, has expressed dissatisfaction with President Akufo-Addo and his administration.
In a self-recorded video posted online, the Kumawood celebrity stated that if he dies, he will go to hell since he backed the NPP government led by Nana Addo in the 2020 presidential election.
The actor believes that the Nana Addo-led government had not functioned up to expectations.
“When I die, I will go to hell. The moment I die, I am going to burn in hell fire straight! If indeed there is a place called Heaven where we go after death, then I am sure to miss it,” Big Akwes disclosed.
He brazenly commented on the current government’s poor performance in office as the reason for his utterance.
“The reason is simple, I campaigned for Nana Akufo-Addo, and he has disappointed me,” he said in Twi
The actor was one of many celebrities who campaigned for the NPP in the recent general elections, which saw Nana Addo’s second term as Ghana’s president.
Ghana is currently experiencing a debt crisis, excessive inflation, and depreciation of the indigenous currency, the cedi.
This restricts the government’s options.
Ghana reached an agreement with the International Monetary Fund in December 2022, which is expected to result in a support package.
