The Football Association (FA) has charged Liverpool and Everton with failing to control their players in Monday night’s Merseyside derby.

A brawl broke out late in the Premier League match at Anfield, which began with a clash between Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.
Despite the fact that several other players were there, only Pickford and Robertson were charged.

The FA has responded by charging both sides for failing to ensure orderly conduct from their players during the 2-0 victory over Liverpool

“Liverpool and Everton players

“Liverpool and Everton have been charged following a mass conflict during the 86th minute of their Premier League encounter on Monday 13 February,” a statement from the FA stated.
“Both teams are accused of failing to ensure that their players and/or benches acted in an orderly manner and/or avoided inflammatory behavior.
Liverpool and Everton have until Monday, February 20th, to respond to the charges leveled against them.”

The Reds return to action against Newcastle on Saturday.
