On-air personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, often known as Do2dtun, has expressed his thoughts on why many Nigerians lie about their age.
Do2tun took to Twitter to express his thoughts on why many Nigerians may prefer to lie about their ages rather than speak the truth.
According to the OAP, many Nigerians find ageing to be a stigma, which has led to many persons concealing their true age.
“Aging is a crime in Nigeria. “you don dey old o” “Agbaya” “you are old; stop dressing like this” Some of you have limited anyone growing up to think it’s bad to be older. We are too ageist & that’s why a few have grown bad attributes of lying about their age,” he said on Twitter
Chichi from Big Brother Naija is called out for claiming to be 23.
Chichi’s birthday message, announcing that she is 23 years old, caused quite a stir on social media.
Chichi posted on social media on Monday, January 9, hinting that today, January 10, is her 23rd birthday.
Following the message, fellow housemate Allysyn took to Twitter to respond.
“23 my ass,” she wrote.
While no names are mentioned in the tweet, netizens have linked this message to Allysyn mocking Chichi, hinting that the latter is lying about her age.
They also dug up old images of Chichi, claiming she is over 40 and lying about her age.
The photographs were taken in 2013 and 2014.
According to them, the photos do not depict her as a teenager.
