Akufo-Addo’s appointees are being evaluated by the party, which will then force him to change the underperforming ones, according to Justin Frimpong Kodua, the general secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He made this statement at a TESCON event in Kumasi, according to Ghanaweb. He asserted that the assessment and the ensuing reorganization are just a couple of the numerous actions the NPP will take to ensure its continued dominance in the government beyond the elections of 2024.

For us to win the elections in 2016, the NPP put in a lot of effort. As a result, they will put in a lot of effort to win in 2024. But as of right now, if ministers, CEOs, or MCEs (Municipal Chief Executives) are not replaced due to subpar performance, we will replace them ourselves.

“The national party, I must inform you on our own, is evaluating government appointees,” he continued. We’ll talk to His Excellency, the President, after we finish the assessment evaluation, too. He was quoted by the news outlet as saying in the Twi language, “After this, we’ll advance to the next level.”

A few days ago, former president John Agyekum Kufour demanded that the Akufo-Addo administration reassign some of its ministers. He suggested that President Akufo-Addo change some of the Ministers since such actions infuse the government with fresh ideas.

He recalled conducting reorganizations frequently during his tenure while speaking in an interview with the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) on Monday at his home in Peduase. According to Kufour, he once reshuffled those who made a substantial contribution to his presidential campaign for his government.

“No, I didn’t just reorganize for the frequency of it. The president serves as more than simply a team leader; they are like the coach. When you expect more from your ministers, you need to know what they are doing and whether they are being productive or just average. You also need to have the courage to tell them they don’t belong where they are and to leave or take a break. This is something that shouldn’t be seasonal; it should be ongoing.”

All requests to reshuffle some of his ministers have been rejected by President Akufo-Addo, who has stated that he is pleased with their performance. Many of his picks, in his opinion, have done a fantastic job performing their tasks.
