Police in Koforidua have detained a 22-year-old guy named Alex Tengeh on suspicion of killing his stepmother and grandfather.
According to reports, the event happened at Okorase, a Koforidua neighborhood in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The exact cause of the suspect’s actions is unknown, but according to a Citinewsroom story seen by GhanaWeb, Alex Tengeh revealed as much in his police statement, that he had been introduced to a marijuana toffee before acting.
Witnesses said that the guy tried to strangle a young woman on Thursday at 9 o’clock.
Kofi Amponsah, the young lady’s father, is believed to have saved his daughter before reporting the incident to the police.
After fleeing the incident, the suspect allegedly went to his house and attacked his grandfather while he slept.
After butchering his stepmother, who is alleged to have tried to save the elderly man after hearing his screams, Tengeh murdered his grandfather.
Comfort Ofori, a neighbor, avoided the suspect’s attempt to harm her.
The act is claimed to have shocked and devastated the whole Okarase community.
