Rocky Dawuni of Ghana receives his third Grammy nomination.

The Recording Academy has released the nominees for the 65th Grammy Awards, which include Ghana’s own Rocky Dawuni.
The Ghanaian Afrobeat, Highlife, and Soul singer’s ‘Neva Bow Down,’ featuring Blvk H3ro, has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards.

He shares the nomination with “Udhero Na,” Arooj Aftab, and Anoushka Shankar.
“Gimme Love,” performed by Matt B and Eddy Kenzo, “Last Last,” performed by Burna Boy, and “Bayethe,” performed by Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode. This is Rocky Dawuni’s third Grammy nomination.
His ‘Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1’ CD received a nomination for Best Global Music Album last year.

He was nominated alongside Nigerian Wizkid, who entered the category with his ‘Made In Lagos’ album.
Daniel Ho & Friends, Angelique Kidjo, Femi Kuti, and Made Kuti are also in the Global Album Music category.

In 2015, the Ghanaian musician was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Reggae Album for his sixth studio album, Branches of the Same Tree.
The ‘Black Star’ singer became the first Ghanaian to be nominated for a Grammy.
