Ursula Owusu, minister of communications, has been questioned by broadcaster Kafui Dey on her recent statement regarding SIM card registration.The continuing process, which will expire on July 31, 2022, should be taken advantage of by Ghanaians and anyone who hasn’t registered their SIM cards, according to the Minister for Communications and Digitalization.At a National Communications Authority (NCA) forum in Kumasi, she made this statement.
Since the deadline of July 31, 2022, won’t be extended, she used this chance to implores everyone who hasn’t registered their SIM cards to do so.The esteemed Ghanaian broadcaster responded to this in a Tweet by writing “Given that many individuals still do not have their Ghana Cards, why is there a deadline for the SIM Card Re-registration exercises?
There are rumors that the NIA district offices aren’t operating as effectively as they should.

The SIM card re-registration initially ran from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022.
However, because the majority of Ghanaians had not yet received their Ghana cards, the Ministry extended it until July 31, 2022.
The only national identity card that can be used to register a SIM is the Ghana card.

According to the Communications Ministry, nearly 12 million Ghanaian have connected their SIM cards to their Ghana cards as of this writing.
According to Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah, Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), over 15.7 million Ghanaians have now gotten their Ghana cards as of Thursday, July 21.
According to data that Prof. Attafuah has access to, 16,969,034 people have registered for the Ghana Card, and as of today, about 16,535,623 cards have been manufactured.
