Nigerian music star turned lawmaker, Olubankole Wellington prevalent known as Banky W, has won the PDP House of Representative Primaries for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.
The report was affirmed by his helper, Kennedy Salami, saying that Wellington had an avalanche triumph. Salami expressed, “We have quite recently finished up the decisions and he has won. We got the ticket for the House Representatives of Eti-Osa PDP. In this way, we are continuing on to the following. It was an avalanche; we won 28 to 3 votes.
In a viral video, the votes of the primaries were counted and firmly observed by the representatives and individuals from the party.
In April, the music star reported via online entertainment that he was by and by planning to address individuals of Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
“I am overwhelmed by the support of my constituency, the people, the ward chairmen, the leaders and the chieftains of the party.“I feel the support even from the grassroots, honestly, I can’t be happier than I am now,” he said.

He tweeted, “We should draw in with Nigeria where it is, not where we like for it to be. In 2019, we sowed the seed. In 2023, by the finesse of God, and with your help, we will win the seat. The ideal opportunity for simply talking is finished. It’s opportunity to #TalkAndDo. I want to believe that I can depend on you. We move.”
Wellington originally reported his aspiration in 2018 and challenged for the House of Representatives seat under the Modern Democratic Party (MDP) yet lost to Ibrahim Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
