Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s political assistant Kofi Tontoh has rejected the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) assertion that Ghana requires a reform.
He contends that rather than starting over, the nation needs an improvement.
Mr. Tontoh emphasized that Ghana has made great progress under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the previous eight years, and that these achievements should be built upon rather than reset in an interview with Selorm Adonoo on the Point of View.
“The bottom line is that the nation has achieved so much in the last eight years in face of all the challenges that confronted us,” he said, raising doubts about the NDC’s justification for calling for a reset. “Yes, we’ve gone through challenges, but we have also done so well in so many instances that we can only build on it and not to reset it,” he said.
Mr. Tontoh asked again, “What is the question resetting to? Resetting to the period when cholera was killing people, four years without electricity, or the moment His Excellency declared, “We’ve chewed the meat left to the bone.” Really, to what?
