Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, is a Nigerian artist who has promised N105 million to the Christ Embassy Church in Benin City, Edo State.
During a church thanksgiving service, Rema made the vow and expressed his appreciation for the help his family received during a difficult period in his early years.
Rema attended a musical concert at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and the groundbreaking ceremony for the 6,000-seat Edo Dome at the state government’s invitation while she was in Edo State celebrating Edo@33.
Rema discussed his personal relationship with the church while addressing the assembly at the church’s Edo Regional Headquarters on Erediauwa Street off Ekenwa Road.
He described how the church, under the direction of Pastors Joy and Thomas, was extremely important in helping his family after his father passed away when he was eight years old. His mother was able to open a shop thanks to the church, which was essential to their existence during that difficult time.
“I am not here to give myself any form of accolades or glory but to give God the glory,” Rema said.
“I felt it was important to give back to the church that has embraced me, prayed for me, and kept me very consistent with my spirit. When I lost my dad, we felt lost and abandoned. All that we had was taken from us, and we felt alone. But the church stood by us.”
