Ghanaian artist Joshua Ampah, a member of the successful Ghanaian music group Keche, has publicly criticised colleague King Paluta for failing to promote their joint hit, “My Father.”
Keche Joshua says that King Paluta’s lack of considerable promotion for the song, which was released in June 2024, is insulting.
In an Instagram video, the crooner underlined the discrepancy between Paluta’s backing for other singers such as Wendy Shay and Sista Afia, and his apparent hesitation to promote “My Father.” He said that Paluta was excited about the partnership but distanced himself when the song was published.
Despite Keche’s efforts to discuss the problem with Paluta’s staff, they were advised that personal social media profiles are not utilised for promotion, and all activity is directed to a separate page named “King Paluta Army.”
Joshua’s complaints highlight a perceived lack of respect and devotion from the ‘Aseda’ hitmaker, which contrasts sharply with the support he shows other musicians.
The issue highlights the need of clear promotional agreements and mutual respect in partnerships, emphasising the need for both sides to fulfil their responsibilities to ensure the success of their collaborative efforts.
