In the sad case of Nana Yaw, also known by his stage name Wyllbee, who was killed on Friday, July 5, 2024 in Abuakwa-Tanoso, Ashanti Region, while purportedly visiting his married girlfriend, Nana Yaa, a new development has surfaced.
According to certain media sources, Nana Yaa’s husband Kingsley, who resides abroad, has a different story.
Kingsley denied rumors that his wife had a sexual contact with the deceased in a live social media exchange that EDHUB posted. He said that Nana Yaw was an armed thief who was trying to enter his family’s house.
“My mother told me she was sleeping with my son when she heard someone break down the first gate and make their way into the house,” Kingsley said, narrating the events as given by his mother. When she questioned who was there, the person began beating a large stone against the door and yelling for them to open it while threatening to kill them.”
When the dead kept trying to get into the house, the family yelled for help, according to Kingsley, and Nana Yaw was caught and murdered by a mob as she tried to escape.
The earlier accounts, which stated that Wyllbee was spending the night with Nana Yaa and stepped outside to urinate when he was noticed by compound house residents, stand in stark contrast to this latest narrative.
According to the previous account, Wyllbee pretended to be visiting his girlfriend when he was approached. To preserve her marriage, Nana Yaa allegedly denied knowing him, which worsened the issue and sparked the mob attack.
This previous story was strongly refuted by Kingsley, who said that his wife was unaware of the death.”That story is untrue since, when I visited Ghana the previous year, my wife refused to go outside at night to urinate, so she kept a chamber pot in her room at all times. He said, “I even made fun of her for having a chamber pot in the room.
The statement of an attempted break-in was confirmed by his 12-year-old son, who was present at the time, he continued.
The investigation has become more complex because to the contradicting stories, since it now needs to take into account the divergent testimonies. It is anticipated that the Ghana Police Service will look into the matter more in order to learn the truth of Wyllbee’s untimely death.
