The Dansoman Circuit Court is currently hearing allegations against Ghanaian artist Christopher Nelson, also known as Mr. Logic, for allegedly scamming a US citizen and his family.
There is a claim of fraud involving $21,000.00 and GH¢48,000.
The Chronicle claimed that Mr. Logic is suspected of carrying out the fraud while posing as a resident permit holder. After entering a not guilty plea, GH¢400,000 bail was granted to him along with three sureties.
Khori Edward Lewis, the fraud victim, is a musician from Pantang who is an American citizen. Monica Spence, posing as Mr. Logic’s manager, presented Lewis and his family to Mr. Logic when they were in Ghana.
The alleged deception started when Mr. Logic allegedly told Lewis that he could pay for a resident visa that would allow him to live and work in Ghana.
Lewis reported the case to the police on May 11, 2024.
The Ghana Immigration Service notified the court that the cost of a residence permit is $1,000.08 for each individual after conducting an inquiry.
Online, Mr. Logic is renowned for showing off his money. He recently bought a new home, which he revealed on social media and gave YouTuber Zionfelix a tour of.Mr. Logic revealed in the interview that he spends GH¢8,000 a day on average.
