Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer for the NDC, has disclosed that Godfred Dame, the Attorney General, is plotting to imprison Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, at whatever cost.
Sammy Gyamfi claims that during Thursday, May 23, during the continuation of the ambulance case, this came to light during the cross-examination of Richard Jakpa, the third accused party.
Speaking to the media shortly after the court session on Thursday, Mr. Gyamfi revealed that the AG had been making overtures and had been calling the third accused individual at strange hours in an effort to obtain incriminating testimony against the Minority Leader.
“We have repeatedly stated our reasons for believing Hon. Ato Forson is innocent. Moreover, this scenario is unnecessary. The leader of the minority has presented and concluded his case. At present, attorneys for a minority leader who is the first accused are cross-examining the third accused.
“We were all in court to monitor the proceedings, but we were shocked to the marrow when the 3rd accused under cross-examination disclosed to the court that the Hon Attorney General has been reaching out to him, calling him over the phone that he has reached out to him and met him in person.
“That the Attorney-General has been asking to give false testimony to the court and skew his testimony in such a way that corroborates the AG, against the first accused so that the first accused can be convicted and jailed. He said this in open court.”
